Project Description

Summary :

Researchers suggest identifying new markers to guide care and therapy options for admitted COVID-19 patients, and assess their prognosis. Several parameters are put forward as favouring COVID-19 infection complications: the presence of pre-existing diseases, an imbalance between virus replication and antiviral response or an inflammatory reaction, development of bacterial superinfection. In this project, researchers will analyze these parameters and compare their evolution in COVID-19 patients hospitalized for pneumonia and those treated in intensive care units.

To identify specific markers of the inflammatory response in order to guide care and therapy options for patients with COVID-19-related pneumonia and assess prognosis for them.
