Project Description

Respiratory impairment associated with COVID-19, which was initially compared to influenza-induced acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), shows many differences. In order to best adapt the therapeutic treatment of these patients, teams from the intensive care unit of the Lille CHU will study and describe in great detail the pathophysiological modifications of the pulmonary and cardiovascular systems in 15 intensive care patients placed on respiratory assistance.

To describe the respiratory and circulatory physiological changes induced by COVID-19 in patients admitted in intensive care and placed on respiratory assistance for less than 7 days.

Prone positioning under VV-ECMO improves oxygenation in SARS-CoV-2-induced ARDS without compromising the safety of the patients. –> LEARN MORE
